107 people in Annandale zip code reported that they felt the earthquake
The 3.6 magnitude earthquake that struck the area at 5:04 a.m. this morning, caused “weak” shaking in the Annandale zip code (22003), the U.S. Geological Survey reports.
According to the USGS website, 107 people in that zip code responded affirmatively to the question, “Did you feel it?”
Annandale is 37 kilometers from the epicenter in Gaithersburg, Md. Many people in the region said they heard a rumbling noise but there were no reports of damage or injuries.
