The 2017 Taste of Annandale, a family-friendly
community festival, has been scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 14.

This will be third Taste of Annandale, building on the
success of the first two events, in 2015 and 2016. Once again, “the Taste” will be 10 a.m-6 p.m. along Tom
Davis Drive in the center of Annandale, between Columbia Pike and John Marr
Drive. There is no charge to attend.

Local restaurants and food trucks will be selling food all
day, and there will be live entertainment, featuring music and dance from a
variety of cultures.
The morning starts with the annual Taste of Annandale 5K Race.

parking lot on John Marr Drive.

The festival also features a full schedule of children’s
programming hosted by the ACCA Child Development Center; a chili cook-off pitting
the Annandale Volunteer Fire Department, the 2016 winner, against the Mason Police District; and booths hosted by local businesses and organizations.

Three sponsors have already signed on: the Annandale Rotary Club, Annandale United Methodist Church, and the Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Virginia.
Entertainment slots are also filling up, with performances
by the Blue Book Value Band, the Alice Gu-Zheng Ensemble, and the “7” Step Hand Dance Academy already scheduled.

The Taste of Annandale is aimed at encouraging community
engagement, celebrating Annandale’s diversity, and shining a spotlight on local
restaurants and businesses. Funds raised by the event will support a project
benefiting Annandale youths.

The event needs to sell alcohol so this will actually be fun.
We tried! It's just not working out for this year. Sorry!
It IS fun! It's not a big-city bash, but then, Annandale isn't a big city, and "TOA" is still in its infancy.
I would be quite happy if Taste got a liquor license in the future, especially if beers and whatnot that complement at least some of the food offerings were available. However, to say it's not already a fun event is bogus…and kind of sad, Drew.
I like checking out the eats and entertainment, as well as supporting my local businesses–and I'm looking forward to doing it again this year!
