2018 public safety bond includes funds for projects in Mason District

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, at its June 19 meeting, authorized a $182 million public safety bond referendum that includes $13 million for improvements to the Seven Corners Fire Station and $23 million for the Mason Police District.
The bond referendum will be on the Nov. 6 general election ballot.
The Mason District Police Station was built in 1973. The funds in the bond measure would be used for renovations, a minor expansion, and upgrading the building systems and infrastructure.
The bond referendum includes $88 million for renovating or replacing aging fire stations, including the one in Seven Corners; $45 million to replace the HVAC and other major building systems at the Adult Detention Center; and $5 million for improvements in the Fairfax County Courthouse.
