Summer concerts scheduled for local parks

The Fairfax County Park Authority has announced the summer entertainment schedule. The free shows are held in parks throughout the county.

Mason District’s Spotlight by Starlight series at the amphitheater in Mason District Park (6621 Columbia Pike) starts June 16 with the City of Fairfax Concert Band. There are shows at Mason District Park at 7:30
p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

The Spotlight by Starlight concerts on Saturday evenings at Ossian Hall Park (7900 Heritage Drive, Annandale) feature music and dance from around the world. The first one, on June 27, is Taiwanese Cultural Heritage Night with music and dance from the Mai Hua Community Center.

There are free children’s shows on Saturday mornings at Mason District Park, starting with the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra’s percussion ensemble, on June 17.

The Braddock District concert series also includes children’s shows Saturday mornings at Wakefield Park in front of the Audrey Moore Rec Center in Annandale.

If it looks like rain, call the hotline at 703-324-SHOW (7469) one hour before the start of the show to see if it’s been canceled.
