A new twist on Korean cuisine
A new restaurant, Sorimmara, is coming to Seoul Plaza on Markham Drive in Annandale.
A sign on the building describes it as a “Korean-style mala restaurant.” Mala sauce is a spicy combination of flavors that originated in China and has become popular in Korea.
Sorimmara is a Korean-based franchise company with a growing number of locations in the U.S.

The owner, Peter Lee, expects Sorimmara to open in early May. It will be a full-service restaurant with waitstaff.
Lee also owns the shop next door, Danuri, which sells high-end and traditional packaged food imported from Korea. Danuri is being reorganized to accommodate the new restaurant.
