A traffic stop leads to a fentanyl arrest
A traffic stop for a fraudulent temporary license plate led to a drug arrest in Seven Corners on Aug. 14, the Fairfax County Police Department tweeted.
When officers from the Mason Police Station stopped the vehicle at around 11:30 p.m. in the 6100 block of Arlington Boulevard, they also found the driver had a fraudulent registration card, said Sgt. Jacob Pearce of the FCPD Public Affairs Bureau.
A search of the vehicle netted 47 suspected blue M30 fentanyl pills, additional counterfeit temporary license plates, and evidence of narcotics distribution.
Diana Barrera, 30, of Falls Church, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I/II drugs, distributing a weapon of terror (fentanyl), contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of forged license plates, and driving without a license.
A teenager was also charged with the distribution of Schedule I/II narcotics.
“Our officers are working hard to take fentanyl out of the hands of dealers and out of our community,” the police department tweeted.
THANK YOU, Mason District Police
