The Phillips Programs for Children and Families, a school that serves youths with emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 26 for a new parking lot and sidewalks for its Annandale campus on Braddock Road.
Twenty-eight local construction firms, working with the Heavy Construction Contractors Association, donated materials and 800 hours of labor, valued at $150,000, for the project.
The project included milling and disposing of 350 tons of asphalt from the existing driveway and bus circle, preparing and paving the surface with 350 tons of new asphalt, excavating and rebuilding ADA-compliant ramps with 27 cubic yards of concrete, repainting curbs and crosswalks, and replacing 15 directional signs.

What does this Mason District project have to do with Tysons Chamber of Commerce Vice President Angela Inzerillo.
Just another example of Penny Gross not paying attention to her district.

It happens that the Tysons Chamber of Commerce has long worked with local charities to help raise awareness of those in need and to encourage their members to support the local community. The Phillips Programs provide outreach all over Fairfax County, as well as in Loudon and Laurel, Maryland. There's
no reason to get your ire up about Angela Inzerillo being at the ribbon cutting. In fact, it's a good thing, but if you need that explained to you, I'm wasting my time even trying.
Take your knee-jerk idiocy elsewhere. You're stinking up the blog.
It's in her district. Phillips is a member of the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce, of which Mr. Inzerillo is VP. How quick to judge you are.
Because many of the companies that provided materials for this project (free of charge) are members of the Tyson Chamber of Commerce. Just another example of a rabid anti-Penny know-nothing using any story to insult Penny with an asinine comment.
How awesome that donations by businesses made this possible. These are kids who are tough to parent and teach and my hat's off to all the people involved in this school. That includes the kids who attend, for whom life holds many challenges.
The Phillips School are not good neighbors. They consistently make illegal U-Turns in the middle of Backlick Road and at Wilburdale & Backlick. I have had several near misses of cars nearly hitting me when I am entering or existing my neighborhood. One nearly T-boned me on the drivers side and then they were yelling at me because I was waiting my turn to get out on Backlick and they were blocking my view. Their school busses take big turns from the Giant parking lot on Backlick to turn into the school and block parts of Backlick Road in the afternoon picking up kids. They need to learn to be better neighbors. I am not impressed by them.
As a parent of a current student, I'd also like to point out that the Heavy Construction Contractors Association also sponsors job training for these kids. My son came home last week with his hard hat emblazoned with their logo and told he now had a "job" with a smile so big it enveloped his entire face. Kudos to Piper and her entire team for the continued love, care and education they provide to this very vulnerable group of young adults.
The original poster asked a reasonable question in a neutral tone. It was you penny protectors who came to "rabid" conclusions.

I'm not a Penny "protector" and my conscience is just fine, thanks–as it should be.
Most of the comments listed under the original post are a reaction to 9:56 and are the direct result of an irrational, obnoxious comment made in a space that is rampant with trolls, paranoiacs, and belly-achers who simply cannot/will not be quiet about Penny Gross. (Perhaps you're new here, so I'll cut you some slack.) The commenters you're trying to shame are NOT lashing out at the OP.
