Annandale building changes hands

This building on Markham Street sold for $1.72 million.

Windows Plus has sold its building at 4321 Markham Street in Annandale.

The buyer paid $1.72 million for the two-story, 3,600-square-foot commercial building, says Chris Bernard, a real estate broker with CRES Inc. The cash sale closed July 12. The property is currently assessed at $797,520.

The buyers, who wish to remain anonymous, do not have immediate plans to redevelop the property, Bernard said.

Windows Plus will remain in the building for the next three or four months, while the company looks for a new location in the area, said Senior Vice President Kimberly Knight Wayland.

Windows Plus also has a location in Warrenton. During construction of the nearby Little River Crossing townhouses, the builder, Christopher Cos., leased space in the building for a sales office.

  1. An anonymous buyer pays almost $1 million over the assessed value for a building with no immediate plans to redevelop it? Is there more to this? Sounds kind of fishy…
