Just stumbled upon this blog. Nice job 🙂 I live in the Maplewood Community at the end of Americana Drive. We have yet to see any snow plows. My husband and I went out to CVS and saw some of the cul-de-sacs completely untouched and cars pretty much trapped behind the snow walls made after snow plows passed on Heritage (a main road).
It is ridiculous that a plow has not been around each street once yet. I don't expect bare pavement plowing but I do think it creates a safety issue if roads are blocked completely. Broyhill Crest (at least my part of it) has yet to see a plow. I understand the main roads get priority but complete neglect of the rest of us can lead to dangerous situations. The 4 wheel drive vehicles cannot get out of here. God help us if we need an ambulance or firetruck. VDOT needs to rethink their approach slightly when we get upwards of a foot. I've been patient like they have asked but when safety is an issue, I only have so much of it.
Very few plows on Columbia Pike compared to the December "blizzard." None seen on ANY backroads all Satuarday. A budget issue?

Here's a link to VDOT. It doesn't expect to get to neighborhoods until Monday.
