Annandale businesses give back to the community
The TD Charitable Foundation has donated $5,000 to the Annandale-based Korean Community Service Center, reports James Min, manager of the TD Bank at 7209 Little River Turnpike, Annandale.
“KCSC has been providing a financial literacy school for adults for a long time,” said Harold Pyon, chair of the KCSC board. “We are so glad to be able to expand the program to kids with the support of TD Charitable Foundation.”
Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, meanwhile, has teamed up with the Muscular Dystrophy Association to raise funds for children and adults affected by neuromuscular disease.
From Aug. 12 through Sept. 3, customers at the Menchie’s in Pinecrest Plaza on Little River Turnpike can purchase a $1 mobile to raise money for families affected by muscular dystrophy in the Alexandria, Annandale, and Falls Church areas. This year’s campaign centers on a superhero theme, urging guests to “suit up and use their power to make a difference.”
Every guest who donates will receive a superhero mobile and a sticker that says “Pow! I made a difference” plus a coupon for 15 percent off on their next visit. “Giving back has always been a founding principle of Menchie’s, and we look forward to working with MDA again in the years to come,” said store owner Leigh Miller.

Thanks for posting a pro-business article. TD Bank has been getting bashed on this blog lately as an ogre but they are just trying to provide a service, and at least is doing something charitable. And NO , I don't work or even have an account there.
