Annandale cleans up on April 30

Annandale residents and business owners are encouraged to come out and help clean up Annandale on Saturday, April 30.

Annandale Community Clean-Up Day is sponsored by the Annandale-based Korean-American Association of Greater Washington and the Mason and Braddock districts.

The goal is “to keep our hometown as clean as we can,” says organizer Helen Winter. Volunteers will be given street maps and bags for collecting litter and illegal signs along major roadways. She expects about 50 people will take part.

Participants are meeting at the George Mason Regional Library at 9 a.m. (The Korean flyer says 9:30 a.m., notes Grace Paik of the Korean-American association.) It should be finished by noon.

Mason Supervisor Penny Gross hopes to come but says, “it’s one of about 12 things on my agenda that day.” The much larger Culmore Clean-Up also takes place April 30.
