Annandale home prices dipped in December
“After months of good news, the prices have fallen a bit this past month,” reports Coldwell Banker realtor Vivianne Couts. “But, the median price hasn’t fallen. So, it seems that more lower-end houses have sold, which brought down the average.”
The average price of a home sold in Annandale in December 2010 was $347,369, compared to an average price of $373,122 during the same month in 2090, a 6.9 percent drop. The median price of homes sold was $350,000 in December 2010 and $351,000 in December 2009.
The average list price for homes sold last month was $367,690, a decline of 5.33 percent over December 2009 when the average list price for homes sold was $388,378. Fifty-four homes were sold in December 2010, compared to 37 in December 2010, an increase of nearly 46 percent. Homes are taking longer to sell, though. Homes sold last month spent an average of 50 days on the market, while homes sold in December 2009 had been on the market for 34 days, on average.
