Annandale homeowners face slight rise in tax assessments

Most Annandale residents can expect a slight increase in their property tax assessments for 2011. The assessed value of residential properties in Annandale (zip code 22003) rose 0.06 percent from 2010, Fairfax County reported. That’s below the countywide increase of 0.71 percent.
The average value of assessed residential property in Annandale was $366,097, compared to $365,380 in 2011.
In 2011, the biggest increase in assessed value of residential real estate was in Herndon (2.54 percent), while the biggest decline was in Great Falls (-1.82 percent). About 41 percent of residential properties countywide experienced an assessment increase. For commercial properties, there was an overall equalization increase of 8.21 percent.
