Annandale homicide involved family argument

The fatal shooting this afternoon in the 4300 block of Beverly Drive, Annandale, stemmed from an argument among family members, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.

The argument began with the suspect, Hiep Van Le, 67, and his son-in-law, Dang Ngo, 45. The conflict escalated, and Le’s daughter, Sophia Le, 40, became involved. Hiep Van Le, allegedly displayed a gun, fired rounds, and wounded both family members.

Ngo was struck and killed outside the home. Sophia Le was injured inside. Another family member inside the home heard the commotion and called police.

When police got inside, they found Sophia Le critically injured. She was immediately transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Hiep Van Le was also inside the home. He was taken into custody, transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, and charged with two counts of second degree murder.

Three juveniles – two young girls and a teenage boy – were inside the house but none of them were injured. The suspect and the two victims lived there.
