Annandale-Mason Roundtable supports the Atoms Boosters

The Atoms Boosters offered spirit wear at the 2024 Taste of Annandale.

The Annandale-Mason Roundtable, the nonprofit that hosts the annual Taste of Annandale, has donated $1,000 to Annandale High School’s Atoms Booster Club.

The funds are from the proceeds raised at the highly successful 2024 Taste of Annandale last October. The Roundtable is in the process of distributing grants to community organizations that benefit local youths and other residents.

The 2025 Taste of Annandale will be held on Oct. 20 at the Eileen Garnett Civic Space on Columbia Pike.

Among other projects, the Atoms Booster Club will use their grant to improve the directional signage for the athletic facilities at the school and at Ossian Hall Park, including the AHS track field, stadium, basketball courts, and baseball fields.

Those venues are heavily used by community groups, including the Annandale Boys and Girls Club. Atoms coaches are strengthening their partnerships with the ABGC.

The new signs will reduce the potential for hazardous traffic situations at crosswalks and parking zones.

The Boosters also plan to purchase additional trash receptacles to reduce litter at those fields and parking lots.

The Annandale-Mason Roundtable envisions its mission as a year-round effort to improve the community and support local youths, as well as planning an annual festival.

To ensure this happens, the Roundtable needs businesses to sign on as sponsors of the 2025 Taste of Annandale.
