Annandale property undergoing renovation to prepare for rental

The little house at 7025 Columbia Pike is being renovated to
attract a tenant. A glass door will be installed in
front, walls will be removed inside, and the interior and exterior will be improved, said
Veronica Salcido of KLNB LLC, a commercial real estate company.

The work should be finished in early 2016. The rent would be
$5,000 a month including the small shed next door. A single tenant would be
preferable, Salcido says. Regarding the types of businesses that could rent the
building, she says, KLNB is “open to anything that would work well in that location.”

For many years, the building had been Anna ’N DalesNewsstand, which closed in spring 2013. Between July 2013 and June 2014, it housed Botanica Pombagira, a shop that sold religious items, incense,
and candles. The small building formerly housed a psychic and, before that, an
electronics repair shop.

According to Fairfax County tax records, the property was
purchased by Oklahoma Joe’s of Washington DC LLC a year ago “under
duress” for $445,000 from Ashkar Adnana. The assessed value is listed as
$669,950.
Oklahoma Joe’s is a Tulsa-based barbecue restaurant chain that
plans to open two locations in the D.C., area, including the Mosaic District in
Merrifield, but has no plans for a restaurant at 7025 Columbia Pike.

  1. My vote is for an upscale consignment store to make downtown Annandale a hub for the clientele of thrift stores, because with the already existing super-sized Goodwill next door, INOVA Fairfax Hospital's Annandale Treasure Trove across the street (and the Salvation Army's highly-rated thrift store only a few moments away by car); Annadale's renaissance will be secured as it becomes known for having the DC Metro Area's greatest collection and diversity of thrift stores.

    1. You joke, but if they opened an upscale consignment shop in Mosaic, it would be hailed as the Greatest Thing Ever.

    2. Annandale is not Mosaic. Mosaic is not on life support. Political corruption, speculation by nonresidents and Fairfax County's Sanctuary policy are killing Mason District.

  2. I am just happy it is not a junk yard anymore with giant size rats or a building with very shady men only walking in.

  3. How about an animal daycare or pet spa? It could also double as a place where stressed out folks could pay $15/hr to pet/play with cats or dogs. No big parking lot required & would provide needed service to residents. Maybe also could work as a rehab center for animals from the nearby animal hospital.

  4. Being that we are in Annandale , how about a drivers education class.. We can use that with all the Asians in the area
