Annandale pyramid resource fair will provide school supply kits
Annandale High School |
Students and parents are invited to the first-ever Annandale Pyramid Back-to-School Resource Fair, Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2-7 p.m. at Annandale High School.
The fair will offer all sorts of resources—including school supply kits, clothing, haircuts, and vision and hearing screenings for students in need—along with information about school and community resources. The fair is intended to get students excited about the new school year and ensure they are prepared for success in school.
The event is for students who attend schools in the Annandale pyramid, including Annandale High School; Holmes and Poe middle schools; and Annandale Terrace, Braddock, Bren Mar Park, Columbia, Mason Crest, North Springfield, and Weyanoke elementary schools.
The success of this event will depend on volunteers to help it run smoothly and to contribute to the school supply drive.
People can donate online at the FCPS Store; a $10 donation will provide a student with essential school supplies, while $20 will provide a school supply kit and a backpack. People can sign up to volunteer online, too.
The resource fair is sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools in collaboration with the Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services and Alternative House.
