Annandale restaurant closes permanently
Dice Burger |
Dice Burger, a fast-casual restaurant at 7023 Columbia Pike in Annandale, has closed permanently, according to a sign on the door.
The restaurant was struggling even before the coronavirus pandemic. Owner Sayed Sanaei warned the community in September 2019 that he might have to shut down if business didn’t improve.
The sign on the door says “closed permanently.” |
In addition to burgers, kabobs, salads, and other items, Dice Burger offered something unique: Anyone who rolled a double six on the dice by the cashier got a free meal.
Dice Burger opened in 2014 in a building that formerly housed Buenos Grill, and before that a gas station.

So… the business run by an owner who blamed the community for its lack of success – rather than their utter mediocrity — is closing. Good riddance.
Always passed by it, never had interest in stopping by. Hopefully something good is replaced at the location. Very doubtful, and can see it being an abandoned lot, like the former Wendys location.

I’m going to miss Dice Burger. I went there frequently. Best burger and chicken sandwich in Virginia, maybe even America.
I agree but knew an uphill struggle. Not a prime location for any business.
Too bad, that was not a good location for a burger joint.
Sad, it had promise. What we need are some good dining venues in this area. That location was good. Why is it that Silverados is always packed and yet these junk places die. Its called amiable customer service, very good food, decent price points and terrific ambiance Get a brain before you open a business; its tough out there.
Dice Burger fell in the "don't judge a book by its cover" category. As someone else commented, they had an awesome burger. Best in the area. RIP, Dice Burger.
Great burger, but the location and vibe were a little off. And you can only eat so many burgers.
Will miss Dice Burger. Enjoyed their burgers to include their chicken and salmon burgers. Also liked that the menu had a variety of things to choose from.
I'm sorry to see any business closed – tough location – I wish they would put a Chipotle or a bagel shop there!
A free life lesson – serve mediocre food and your place will not succeed.
Good. Maybe somethung bettet will come along. The one time I went there the food was ok. I ordered onion rings as a side and they gave me one. ONE onion ring……….
We loved Dice Burger. The food was great! Wondering if others went to the same place — the burgers were big & juicy with lots of flavor? The atmosphere was fun for a family representing various decades and the owner so very friendly. Plus, the price was one of the more reasonable places around. One of our favorite go to places. What a loss.
A nice Small bar/ grill or pub type place would be nice. Sad to see Dice Burger go but around here if you're not fat food, ethnic food or already established you don't stand much of a chance unfortunately
