Annandale restaurant gets a makeover
Da-In Café & Karaoke in Annandale is being transformed into a Mexican restaurant.
Manager Seong Kim hopes to reopen in May. “After 14 years it’s time for a change,” he said.
The new place will have a full bar, waitstaff, pool tables, and arcade games – but no karaoke. Kim is considering serving burgers and some Korean items, as well as Mexican food, although the menu hasn’t been finalized.
It’s located between Honey Pig and the future 1943 soju and beer bar being developed in the former Bank of America spot.
The interior is not quite finished. Kim is waiting for county inspections and approval of an occupancy permit before it can open.
From the description it will not be a true authentic Mexican restaurant. Too bad!!
I hope this place will not become a hang out with people going their to get drunk and cause problems.
Katie you wouldn’t know real true Mexican if it slapped you upside the head like a wet burrito. Who are you to say Koreans can’t serve Mexican. This is America and we are a melting pot. I’ll gladly buy a real true Korean burrito and think of you as I enjoy the deliciousness!!
Most Mexican food in this area is really either Tex Mex or Salvadoran. If you had “authentic “, youd probably would pine for Taco Bell. And why would people at this place be any more likely to get drunk than any other restaurant?
I am suprised it will be mexican since annadale is known for asian cuisine..but lets see what happens..
How about cheap beer
I wish the new owner the best of success
I hope they sell bulgogi tacos!
