Annandale restaurant is a finalist for ‘best brunch’ award
A couple of Annandale area restaurants are finalists for the 2022 Rammy Awards.
The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington announced the finalists April 5, including these local spots:
Best brunch of the year: A&J Restaurant, at 4316B Markham St., in Annandale, is known for its Chinese dim sum.
The winner in this category must demonstrate a high standard of dining excellence and service for its brunch in a formal, upscale, or casual environment, the restaurant association says. Blend 111 in Vienna is also a finalist for best brunch.
Best beer program of the year: Sweetwater Tavern, at 3066 Gate House Plaza, Merrifield, is part of the Great American Restaurants group. Caboose Tavern in Vienna is also a finalist in this category.
Brewery restaurants and brewpubs are judged on the diversity, quality, clarity, and value of their craft beer.
Nicole Burdett of the Taco Bamba in Springfield is a finalist for “employee of the year.”
A total of 110 restaurants and individuals – in 22 categories – were named as finalists. The vast majority of the restaurants are in Washington D.C. The winners will be announced at a gala in D.C. on July 24.
