Annandale Rotary Club lottery winners announced
Bill Ibold of Brecksville, Ohio, won the $5,000 grand prize. He bought a lottery ticket on a ski trip with a member of the Rotary Club.
Jackie Armstrong of Annandale was the second-place prize winner with $1,500. Four people won $250: Rev. Clarence Brown, Jim Holcombe, Bill Iwig, and Connie Burnley.
Brown, the former pastor at Annandale United Methodist Church, and Holcombe donated their winnings to the Annandale Rotary Foundation.
The lottery drawing was held March 21 at the Rotary Club’s Food and Wine Affair at the Cue Club Café. Lottery tickets were $100, and just 350 tickets were printed, which meant anyone who bought one had a good chance of winning.
The lottery is the foundation’s biggest annual fundraiser. The proceeds support the Rotary Club of Annandale’s charitable projects, such as student service clubs at Annandale High School and Northern Virginia Community College, scholarships, Annandale Christian Community for Action, other local programs to help the needy, and Rotary International’s humanitarian projects.
