student athletes, a coach, and a parent from the Mason District were among the

Congratulations to:
- Noah Satorius, a basketball player with the Annandale Sports Club and “an
exceptional young man who always exhibits the best in personal integrity,
courage, and sportsmanship.” - Madison Albrecht, a player on a travel soccer team with the Annandale Boys and Girls Club and a three-sport athlete at JEB Stuart High School who also excels
in the classroom. - Sharon Ponton, girls volleyball coach at Stuart who
established a developmental volleyball program for middle-school girls. - Juan Nelson Zavaleta Mejia, a parent volunteer recognized for his support of
the Futbal Positivo program.
The
Champions of Character Awards are aimed at “restoring the ennobling tradition
of amateur athletic competition” by recognizing individuals for “extraordinary
service in pursuing victory with honor.”
