Annual Bed Race in Annandale on May 10

John Marr Drive in Annandale will be turned into a speedway
Saturday morning as teams representing local businesses, organizations, and public officials race hospital beds up and down the street. Some teams go to great lengths to decorate their beds.
The action starts in front of Kmart at 10 a.m. The annual Bed Race is
sponsored by the Annandale Chamber of Commerce, and it’s a fundraiser for Virginia Special Olympics. It’s also a lot of fun.
And if that’s not enough to get you into Annandale Saturday
morning, there’s a community yard sale at the Annandale Fire Station on
Columbia Pike.

  1. Sure hope bed racers watch out for some mighty nasty chuckholes in front of KMart on John Marr.

  2. Was a fun event to attend and support Special Olympics, too. Congratulations to all participants! But sad to learn there will not be a carnival this Spring.
