Annual Parade and Fall Festival bring crowds to Annandale

The annual Annandale Parade and Fall Festival Oct. 25 drew large crowds to the community on a beautiful fall day. Both events are sponsored by the Annandale Chamber of Commerce. [See the Annandale Blog Facebook page for more photos.]

  1. The parade was great this year, as it always is. It showed off Annandale's diversity and was a lot of fun for kids and families. But the elephant in the room was the absence of what Annandale is best known for: the Korean community. Again, I saw no representation of Korean businesses or groups in the parade, which is crazy because the entire parade route is lined with Korean restaurants, shops, and other businesses. I love the Annandale blog for its interesting angle on local news–would you be able to ask local Korean-American leaders/business owners about this?

    1. I thought that was a bit strange too, if I didn't know any better I would've thought Annandale was 95% Bolivian.

  2. The lack of Korean participation in the Annandale parade and festival is definitely strange and has been going on for the past few years. Those events are organized by the Annandale Chamber, which doesn't list any Korean restaurants on its member directory.
