Annual plant sale at Green Spring Gardens this Saturday

More than 40 vendors will on hand at Green Spring Gardens’ plant sale Saturday, offering native plants, trees, shrubs, flowers, herbs, including rare and usual varieties, and many native plants.

The sale takes place 9-3 p.m., May 14. Green Spring Gardens is 4603 Green Spring Road, Alexandria. The nearby Pinecrest Office Park has agreed to allow its lot to be used for overflow parking.

There will be a plant check tent, so you don’t have to carry your purchases around, says Green Spring Gardens Director Mary Olien. Utility vehicles will be available to pull your plants to the curb.

IndAroma, a bakery/café in Pinecrest Plaza on the corner of Little River Turnpike and Braddock Road, will sell food at the plant sale.

The event is a fundraiser for FROGS (Friends of Green Springs). Last year’s plant sale raised about $17,000, Olien says.
