The event was hosted by the Asian Community Service Center. The event celebrates the lunar new year while educating the public about Chinese culture, says Mindy Ge, the organization’s director. This year’s theme was “harmony.”

“We used to go to Chinatown every year for the New Year parade,” Ge says. “But one year it was snowing, so we decided to do something inside.” They’ve been hosting the New Year celebration every year at the middle school since 2009.
