Asian festival this Saturday in Annandale
The community is invited to celebrate Asian Pacific Heritage Month at the Eileen Garnett Civic Space in Annandale on Saturday, May 25, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
That park is located at 7200 Columbia Pike between the ACCA Child Development Center and the Annandale Volunteer Fire Department.
The following performances are scheduled for the county’s showmobile:
- 10:15-10:30 a.m. – Yo-Yo dancer
- 11:10-11:25 a.m. – K Pop dancers
- 11:30-11:45 a.m. – Polynesian dancers
- 12-12:15 p.m. – Korean dancer 1
- 12:40-12:55 p.m. – Indonesia dancer
- 1:20-1:35 p.m. – Korean dancer 2
A DJ will entertain the crowd between acts. Mason Supervisor Andres Jimenez will offer welcoming remarks at 10 a.m.
These activities are scheduled for the lawn:
- 10 a.m.-noon – Calligraphy artists
- 10 a.m.-2 p.m. – Origami artist
- 10:30-11 a.m. – Lion dance
- 11:30 a.m.-noon – Youth group
- 1-1:30 p.m. – Hapmudo Martial Arts

The Fairfax County Community Revitalization office is planning several upcoming events at the Eileen Garnett Civic Space through the end of the year. A June 29 event focuses on fitness and health, and a food and movie night will be held on July 13.
