Attempted robbery at Exxon station in Annandale

Revised 2 p.m., Nov. 23: The Exxon station at 3403 Holly Road in Annandale was the site of an attempted robbery on Nov. 22 shortly after 5 p.m., the
Fairfax County Police Department reports.

An employee had been standing outside the gas station when he re-entered the business, a man followed him, produced a handgun, threatened him, and demanded money.

A customer walked into the business at that point, which apparently startled the would-be robber, causing him to flee without any money.

The suspect was described as
black, 28 to 37 years old, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, and 150 to 200 pounds. He was
wearing dark clothing. Call the police, 703-691-2131, if you have any

That Exxon station was robbed last March.
