Ben Nowak appointed principal of Falls Church High School

Ben Nowak has been named principal of Falls Church High School, Fairfax County Public Schools announced Sept. 27.
Nowak has been an assistant principal at McLean High School since 2012, where his responsibilities included the Class of 2019, science, world languages, and instructional assistants.
“He is a strong proponent of building trust with all stakeholders,” FCPS states. He focuses on “supporting high levels of learning for all students within the professional learning communities framework.”
Before being named an assistant principal, Nowak was a high school science teacher, department chair, and high school science resource teacher. He earned a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University, a master’s degree from George Mason University, and a doctorate in education from Virginia Tech.
Bruce Butler has been serving as interim principal at Falls Church since Michael Yohe left.
