Blog sign stolen
Someone stole the Annandale Blog sign from the grassy area at the intersection of Gallows Road and Columbia Pike sometime between 8:15 a.m. on Dec. 29 and 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 30. I don’t think it was the wind, as signs advertising massages and other things are still up in the Columbia Pike median.
Doubt it was stolen…what would the motive be? You are not a business and have no competition. Think maybe someone greening the are removed it. I'd try posting it again. Good luck.
What? !!! OMG – Next time – put it where no one easily walks by….. but where cars can see it.
It was illegal like the others.
It was also an eyesore
You need a permit for that…did you get one?
A police report has been filed. It is not illegal to put up free-standing signs on public land in median strips, and you do not need a permit. It is illegal to staple signs to telephone poles and stop signs, althought that isn't enforced very well. According to the people, people pick up signs in the middle of the night to reuse the metal.
Patch?
Ha, Ha. I don't think so, though.
The signs are illegal in medians.
Removing them if they are not you property is also illegal. However VDOT has complete legal authority to remove your litter. Please cease and desist from ugly-fying my county.
ILLEGAL!!
What kinds of signs are prohibited in the state rights-of-way?
An advertisement is defined in Va. Code Ann. § 33.1-351 as
