The semi-annual book sale at George Mason Regional Library in Annandale begins this week.

This event, hosted by George Mason Friends, offers a great selection of high-quality hardback and paperback books, CDs, DVDs, children’s books, and more.

The four-day book sale will begin on Thursday, April 18, and go on through Sunday, April 21. It’s open daily 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. There is no charge to enter.

New for this year, George Mason Friends are offering a preview sale, Wednesday, April 17, 5-8 p.m., with a $20 fee per adult.

Book shoppers are advised to come early for the best selection and return on Sunday for half-price bargains.

Some of the rare, fine art, and pop-up children’s books on sale are displayed in the glass cases in the library lobby.

The books and other materials are organized by category: fiction, graphic novels, mysteries, history, cookbooks, performing arts, foreign-language books, gardening, comics, crafts, and much more.

Proceeds from the book sale support George Mason Regional Library, the Fairfax County library’s summer reading program, the Fall for the Book lecture, and other library-related programs.

  1. I seek Terry Pratchett “DISCWORLD” paperback books. I can send a list of the ones I still seek. I’m so happy I’m still on the{“Annandale Today” online publication. Though I live in Manassas City now, I grew up in Chapel Square (off Little River Tpke/NVCC on Toll House Road).

Please reply to [email protected] with the list and costs. I would gladly pay for them to be shipped. My mission is to read all of them in publication order.

p.s. When Mom had two behind me, she & I would come to this library. THIS is where I learned to love reading and became a Documentation Specialist for high tech mainframe software folks. (Yes, I know). My first gig was as a temp for this software company.

I’d like to thank this library and my Mom for getting me hooked with reading and writing well at such a young age.

Thanks for any help getting these books to me.

NOTE: Due to a freak car accident I have radial damage in my right hand so I can NOT use any Smart devices. Just a flip phone, email. and the Internet at my new library (Manassas City Library).
