Keesha Jackson-Muir has been
appointed principal of Braddock Elementary School in Annandale, effective Aug. 28. Braddock has 588 students in prekindergarten through grade 5.

Jackson-Muir has served as an
assistant principal at Parklawn Elementary School since 2010. Before that,
she was a gifted and talented specialist at Fort Belvoir and Beech Tree elementary
schools, worked with the Young Scholars program and as an instructional coach at
Fort Belvoir, and was an administrative intern at Belvedere Elementary School.

She began her career as an
elementary teacher in Queens, N.Y., where she also worked with students with
special needs. She completed her undergraduate work at the State
University of New York at Stony Brook, earned a master’s degree at the City University of New
York at Brooklyn College, and an educational specialist degree at Virginia
Tech.
Braddock Elementary has approx. 750 students.
