Burglary, unlawful entry arrests this weekend

The Fairfax County Police Department’s weekend crime report includes several incidents in the Mason District/Annandale area.

Two men were charged with burglarizing an apartment in the 6100 block of Greenwood Drive in Seven Corners at about 10:30 p.m. on March 24.

Officers were called for a report of a fight. Two men had broken into an apartment and were threatening someone inside, throwing things around, and causing damage. The suspects fled as officers arrived but were apprehended nearby.

Marlon Martinez, 22, of Falls Church, and George Hernandez, 22, of no fixed address, were taken to the Adult Detention Center and each was charged with two counts of burglary, one count of attempted burglary, three counts of assault. and two counts of destruction of property. No one inside the apartment required medical attention.

Three teenage boys, ages 14, 15, and 16 were taken into custody after unlawfully entering the basement area of an apartment building on the 6000 block of Argyle Drive, Bailey’s Crossroads, at about 5:10 p.m. on March 26.

Petitions will be sought for unlawful entry and possession of marijuana. Two suspects were released to their parents; the other was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center for an outstanding detention order.

A man was arrested at about 11:10 a.m. on March 25 for unlawfully entering a vacant unit in the Avant Apartments on the 4500 block of Commons Drive, Annandale. An employee reported two men were inside, but the suspects fled before police officers arrived.

One suspect was located and arrested nearby. Hector Morales, 50, of Annandale, was taken to the Adult Detention Center and charged with unlawful entry and destruction of property. The other suspect was not located, but officers were able to identify him and obtain warrants.

UPDATE: FCPD also reports several bias-related graffiti incidents. A property manager discovered swastikas spray-painted inside a building on the 3500 block of Sleepy Hollow Road at about 8:30 a.m. on March 27. Gang-related graffiti was also found on a nearby dumpster.

On the same day, swastikas and other derogatory graffiti was found on several large boulders at Lake Accotink Park. There are no suspects for either incident.
