Check out Kabobistan at the Taste of Annandale

Kabobistan, a new restaurant in the Bradlick Shopping Center
in Annandale, specializes in kabobs (chicken, beef, lamb, fish, and shrimp),
but also has other Afghan dishes, such as qaubili palau (lamb with rice and
raisins) and bouranee baunjaun (fried eggplant with tandoori bread).

You’ll have a chance to try some of these specialties at the
Taste of Annandale, a street festival Oct. 13 on Tom Davis Drive.

The owner, Joe Abbasi, says 99 percent of first-time
customers have come back several times.

Abbasi, had owned an Afghan restaurant in Crystal
City that had been torn down to make way for a new development.

Kababistan is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on Sundays.

  1. YEA! I'm glad to hear that a restaurant (and not just a food truck), and one that's actually from Annandale is joining the Taste! I hope they bring plenty of vegetarian dishes.
