Firefighters from the Annandale Volunteer Fire Department, Station 8, came to Ravensworth Elementary School March 6 to present a Life Saving Award to Taeloire, a third grader, the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department reports.
Taeloire was credited with saving his family when his younger brother accidentally started a fire in a bedroom while playing with matches. Taeloire took his brother out of that room and told his mother there was a fire and they needed to get out of the house immediately.
“Taeloire is a kind and bright young man,” says Ravensworth Principal Roxanne Salata. “He is a compassionate friend to his classmates, and it’s no surprise that he rose to hero status by acting so fast to save his family from the quickly spreading fire. Everyone at Ravensworth is so proud of Taeloire!”
Congratulations to a wise and careful young man!
