Clean up Americana Drive on Presidents’ Day
Join the cleanup crew on Americana Drive, Annandale, on Presidents’ Day, Feb. 19, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Volunteers will collect trash and construction debris on the side of the road bordering the beltway sound wall.
The VDOT Adopt-a-Highway permit requires all participants to check in. The sign-in tent, with trash bags and other supplies, will be located at the corner of Americana Drive and Patriot Drive. Students seeking community service hours also need to sign in.

Items that could be dangerous – such as weapons, explosives, drug paraphernalia, leaking fuel containers, or bloody materials – should not be picked up.
The Vistas of Annandale is letting volunteers use their business office restrooms during the cleanup event.
Volunteers can sign up for the cleanup at the Fairfax County Restoration Project or just show up.

Stop cleaning Americana drive. The cut rate contract dumpers who are too cheap to go to the transfer station know there are no consequences to dumping there. They want to turn that area to look like their home countries … where corrupt inept government allows a few dirtbags to destroy the community. All trash gathered should be placed in the driveways of each BoS….and get 7 on Your Side to cover it. VDOT and police have been pathetic and obstructive on this issue. VDOT allows tractor trailers to park in residential roads; leaves dead animal carcasses on road for months;
