Coach CJ Celebration to raise funds for scholarships
Swimmers remember Coach CJ. |
The public is invited to the second annual Coach CJ Celebration Saturday, March 5, at the Annandale Volunteer Fire Department social hall, 7128 Columbia Pike, 7-11 p.m.
This is a big family-friendly party with music, dancing, and great food – plus beer and wine for the adults.
It’s a fundraiser for Clayton Joyner Memorial Scholarships in honor of the former Falls Church High School and Holmes Run Pool swim coach, who died tragically young in 2014.
The Coach CJ Celebration is hosted by Nancy Joyner, who is keeping her son’s memory alive by creating a college scholarship program for Falls Church High School graduates, donating a record board to the school, hosting numerous fundraisers, and maintaining the Victory Lane Aquatic Club, which Clayton founded.
All the funds raised at the March 5 party will go toward scholarships. Tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for youths under 21, and $100 for a family. Space is limited, so be sure to register by March 2. There was a huge crowd at last year’s event.
Send checks to Team Joyner Foundation, P.O. Box 2614, Merrifield, VA 22116. Include your name, email, and phone number. Tax-deductible donations will be gratefully appreciated For more information, contact [email protected].
