Community centers have tech devices to lend
Community members can now borrow technology devices from community centers operated by the Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services.
The new Technology Lending Program includes Canon EOS digital cameras, Oculus Meta Quest II virtual reality headsets, Cricut Maker cutting machines, and Flashforge Adventurer Pro 3D printers. Chromebooks will be added soon.
The program is available at 12 community centers, including the Minnie H. Peyton Community Center at Bailey’s in Bailey’s Crossroads, the James Lee Community Center in Falls Church, and the Willston Multicultural Center in Seven Corners.
Borrowers must be Fairfax County residents or hold a non-resident NCS membership, show a photo ID or proof of address, and pass a skills test or have training in the equipment they seek to borrow. The lending period is 14 days.
