Community feedback sought on Audrey Moore Rec Center
The Fairfax County Park Authority has put out a survey seeking community feedback on how people use the Audrey Moore Rec Center and what new features and improvements they want.
Access the survey here.
The Park Authority has begun the conceptual design process for a major renovation and expansion of the facility, and input from the community will help guide that process.
Proposed improvements include upgrades to the fitness area, multipurpose rooms, senior center, locker rooms, pool, accessibility, and existing building and pool systems.
The 73,000-square-foot Audrey Moore Rec Center is located at 8100 Braddock Road, Annandale, in the Braddock District. It’s the oldest public recreation center in Fairfax County, and many of its systems have been extended beyond their useful life.
The architectural/engineering firm DLR Group was selected for the design and construction administration services.
Partial funding was allocated to the project from the 2016 and 2020 park bonds. Additional funding necessary to fully fund construction is anticipated in future park ponds.
Concept design options will be presented at a community meeting in spring 2022.
Why is Audrey Moore the only FX County Rec Center without a whirlpool?
