Community outreach meetings scheduled on Annandale Regional Planning Study
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) has scheduled four community outreach meetings this month on the Annandale Regional Planning Study. The study will be presented to the school board Monday, Jan. 10, at 4 p.m.
The committee that worked on boundaries for the new elementary school being built on the Lacey site will hold community meetings:
- Jan. 12 at Woodburn Elementary School cafeteria, 3401 Hemlock Drive, Falls Church, and
- Jan. 19 at Poe Middle School cafeteria, 7000 Cindy Lane, Annandale.
The committee that worked on options to relieve overcrowding at Annandale High School and Poe middle school will hold outreach meetings:
- Jan. 13 in the lecture hall at Annandale High School, 4700 Medford Drive, Annandale, and
- Jan. 18 in the lecture hall at Poe Middle School, 7000 Cindy Lane in Annandale.
All of the meetings will be 7-9 p.m. They are open to parents and interested citizens. The scope of the study involves 21 schools: Annandale, Edison, Falls Church, Lee, Stuart, West Springfield, and Woodson high schools; Lake Braddock Secondary School; Frost, Glasgow, Holmes, Jackson, and Poe middle schools; and Annandale Terrace, Beech Tree, Belvedere, Braddock, Columbia, Sleepy Hollow, Westlawn, and Woodburn elementary schools. Spanish, Vietnamese, Farsi, and Korean interpreters will be at all meetings.
