Condo fire displaces 24
Twenty-four people have been displaced by a fire in a garden apartment at 7455 Little River Turnpike in Annandale on Sunday night. There were no injuries.
When firefighters arrived, at about 9:20 p.m., they encountered smoke coming from the terrace level of the three-story, eleven-unit condo building across the street from the Safeway shopping center, the Fairfax County Fire Department reports. Occupants discovered the fire before the fire alarms sounded. Damage is estimated at $75,000. According fire investigators, the fire was accidental and was caused by “an electrical event in a utility chase and laundry room on the terrace level.”

Why I will never share walls again. Another household's faulty electrical equipment is your potential displacement.
Hopefully you will never get old and feeble and need to live in an assisted living center or nursing home. You sound like you would be a fun roommate.
