Connection provides personalized fitness plans
The Connection Wellness Center, a personal fitness studio at 4113 John Marr Drive in Annandale, creates individualized workout plans focusing on strength training.
Connection owner Rachel Martin, a lifelong Annandale resident, was the co-owner of PR Performance Fitness, which opened in the same location in 2017 and closed last June. Former PR co-owner Pablo Amaya went on to open RAMP Optimal Performance & Wellness on Columbia Pike.
Martin describes Connection as a “personal training studio focused on giving clients more personal attention.” The trainers design a workout “that is practical, purposeful, and productive that is meant for you and that gives you results.”
The trainers work with people of all ages and abilities.
Trainer Matt Stevens, a graduate of Annandale High School, works with baseball athletes and helps dads stay in shape. Julita focuses on women’s health, including prenatal and postpartum fitness.
Connection has free weights, cable machines, a squat rack, and cardio equipment and also offers online classes.
Martin says small studios like Connection offer more privacy than big gyms.
Noting that there are at least two other personal training facilities in Annandale, she says, “It’s great to have so many options. Each one offers something different. You have to choose the one that is best for you.”
It is a wonderful business. I’ve been going there for years with Rachel as my fitness coach. It is good to see the article about it.
