County seeks public input on strategic plan
Fairfax County is seeking feedback from the public on a draft strategic plan presented to the Board of Supervisors Feb. 25 by County Executive Bryan Hill.
The strategic plan sets a clear, unified, community-driven vision for the next 10-20 years and provides a tool for focusing and prioritizing initiatives over the next three to five years.
In developing the plan, county staff collected input from the public at several community dialogue sessions.
The county is hosting four meetings to solicit more comments and ideas from the public to help refine the strategic plan, including a session on April 2, 7-9 p.m., at the James Lee Community Center, 2855 Annandale Road, Falls Church.
The plan includes more than 100 strategies within nine priority areas:
- Cultural and recreational opportunities
- Economic opportunity
- Effective and efficient government
- Empowerment and support for residents facing vulnerability
- Health and environment
- Housing and neighborhood livability
- Lifelong education and learning
- Mobility and transportation
- Safety and security
