Vivianne Couts, a realtor with Coldwell Banker, is all about cultivating personal relationships and giving back to the community.
That’s why the Couts Group, which consists of Viv and Jenny Arias, is a Gold-level sponsor of the Taste of Annandale. But they do so much more.
On Memorial Day, Viv and her team put out more than 1,000 American flags on the curb throughout the Broyhill Crest neighborhood. They give away about 60 pies on the Fourth of July, and before Halloween, they gave away pumpkins to all their clients. Every summer, they have a client appreciation party with a moon bounce at the Broyhill Crest Recreation Club.
They also collect school supplies for Mason Crest Elementary School and host a sock drive in December for homeless shelters and at-risk youths.

“The majority of our business is through referrals,” Couts says. “We believe in getting clients mostly from people we know. When they already know us, they trust us.”
The real estate market in the Annandale area is doing well, Viv says. “Anything priced right and in good condition sells quickly.”
The Couts team has clients all over Northern Virginia, plus D.C. and Maryland, says Viv, who’s been in real estate for 13 years after a career as an energy economist. Arias joined the team six years ago.
The team also includes Viv’s dogs Harper and Danny, who had been rescued from shelters. When the Couts group has a vacant house on the market, Viv shoots a video of the house with the dogs and posts it on Facebook. Those videos tend to get shared a lot, which helps market the house, and also raises money for City Dogs Rescue – resulting in more dogs being adopted.
“We want to make it fun,” Viv says. “Life is too short to be all stuffy.”
