Crime report: man threatened with machete
The Fairfax County Police report for the week includes these crimes in the Annandale/Mason District area:
A man waiting for a bus in the 5100 block of Backlick Road in Annandale at about 5 p.m. on Oct. 7 was approached by a man who began yelling racial slurs and threatening him with a machete. During the confrontation, the man threw a shopping cart at the victim.
Cloy Michael Williams, 60, was charged with biased assault, possession of a concealed weapon, and brandishing.
Someone fired a gun into a car in the 3800 block of S. George Mason Drive in Bailey’s Crossroads at about 1:15 a.m. on Oct. 4. Police found shell casings nearby. No injuries were reported.
A man arriving home in the 3600 block of Annandale Road in Annandale at about 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 5 was approached by two men with guns. The men demanded money, took cash and personal property, and drove away.
A man who had arranged to meet two men to sell an item was robbed by them instead. This incident happened in the 4900 block of Beauregard Street in Lincolnia shortly before noon on Oct. 6. The men displayed a gun, assaulted him, took personal property, and ran away. The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.
