Culmore Multicultural Day brings community together

The 10th annual Culmore Multicultural Day drew hundreds of
local residents of all ages to the Woodrow Wilson Library parking lot April 2
to enjoy a diverse mix of music and dance performances.

The event, sponsored by the Fairfax County Park Authority,
is aimed at connecting the community with county and local resources that
people might not know about, as well as providing fun activities for families. 
Culmore residents learn about the Junior Youth Empowerment Program, a spirituality-based after-school program for middle school students.
There were about 30 booths set up by county
agencies, local nonprofits, and businesses with information
about home ownership opportunities, healthcare, after-school programs, nutrition,
and much more, while kids got a chance to explore a fire truck and ambulance.

Culmore Multicultural Day has grown since it started in 2006.
Acadia’s Mobile Markets will be bringing a food truck with fresh, local, sustainable food to Bailey’s Crossroads.
