The Center for Dentofacial Aesthetics, a Gold-level sponsor
of the Taste of Annandale, has been taking care of families’ dental needs for
more than 50 years.
The Taste of Annandale is a street festival Oct. 13 with live entertainment, food trucks, a 5K, children’s programming, pet contest, chili cook-off, and much more.
The dental practice, located at 7630 Little River Turnpike,
has four dentists that can take care of 90 percent of all procedures a patient
would need, says Dr. Harshit Aggarwal, a prosthodontist, who specializes in
crowns, implants, dentures, and “anything artificial that goes in the mouth.”

The other dentists include a periodontist (a gum
specialist), an endodontist (root canals), and a general dentist.
The practice was founded by Dr. Lonnie Felsen in Heritage
Mall in 1967. He passed away last month in Florida, Aggarwal notes. Dr. Mark
Egber purchased the practice in the 1980s, relocated it to its current
location in 2010, and served as a mentor to Aggarwal.

One thing that sets the Center for Dentofacial Aesthetics
apart from other dental practices is its use of the latest technology, Aggarwal says. Its specialists use 3D scans to make crowns the same day, and surgeries can be computer-guided
for precision in putting in implants.

The center has a loyal customer base, Aggarwal says, noting
that some patients have been with the practice for 25 years. There are patients
who keep coming back after they’ve moved to Delaware and Richmond, for example.
And one patient who moved to California and travels to D.C. every few months
continues to schedule dental appointments at the center when he’s in the area.

Aggarwal is looking forward to the Taste of Annandale as one
more way to reach out to the community. The center already sponsors the
Annandale High School football team and is involved in other local events. “We
just want to get more involved in the community,” he says.
