Donate your unneeded books
If decluttering expert Marie Kondo has gotten you weeding through your book collection – or you’re otherwise thinking about downsizing – the Falls Church Area Branch of the AAUW wants your unneeded books.
The organization is holding its annual book sale April 12-13 at the Falls Church Community Center. It’s a fundraiser for scholarships for girls.
The AAUW is seeking donations of gently used hardcover books, paperbacks, fiction, and nonfiction. Books can be dropped off at the Falls Church Community Center, 223 Little Falls St.
The organization cannot accept books that are falling apart or moldy, Reader’s Digest condensed books, encyclopedias, textbooks, or out-of-date technical books. Donations are tax deductible, with the value assigned by the donor.
For more information, call 703-966-8050.
Book donations are also being accepted for the April 25-28 book sale at George Mason Regional Library in Annandale hosted by Friends of George Mason. Proceeds from that sale benefit programs at all Fairfax County libraries. Books can be dropped off at the library.
