A Giant manager blamed the empty shelves on slow deliveries. He anticipates a shipment of produce and milk will arrive this morning.

Empty grocery shelves are a nationwide phenomenon. An article in the Washington Post cites four reasons: The Omicron surge is leading to staffing shortages; winter snowstorms stranded delivery trucks; manufacturing has shut down in some countries that import goods; and more people are eating at home creating more demand for groceries.
