Environmental films at the Angelika in the Mosaic District

The Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital, the largest event of its kind in the United States, will include a few screenings at the Angelika Film Center in the Mosaic District.

More than 180 films from 32 countries will be shown through March 26 at 40 venues in the D.C. metropolitan region. Now in its 25th year, the 2017 festival will focus on a planet in transition, exploring what has happened over the past 25 years and what lies ahead.

“A Plastic Ocean,” a film that focuses on the impact of our disposable lifestyle, will be shown at the Angelika in Merrifield on March 21, 7 p.m. On March 22, 7 p.m., there will be a screening at the Angelika of the short film, “The Nature of People,” followed by “Water & Power: A California Heist,” which exposes the corruption behind California’s water crisis.
